Seaforth barracks

[edit]

1 recently found My great uncle Patrick Farley lied about his age when joining up at the Seaforth Barracks on the 6th sep 1900. Patrick lived in Roman Street next to the Seaforth Barracks. He signed up giving his age at 17 years and 11 months making his DOB 1882 . He was actually born in 1887 i know this because he gave his age at 24 on the 1911 census form. I also note from the hand wrighting on original signing up form was written by an educated person and Patrick signed it. His hight was listed as 5ft 3ins the minimum hight to pass a medical fit for action. Patrick was KIA on the 29 July 1917 twenty one days after his brother pt Richard Farley RFA 41987 fell. I wonder how many childred where joined up illegally. Pamjoe (talk) 18:54, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
